Moon phases in astrology

The lunar cycle moves from New Moon to Full Moon and back again. In astrology, it can be used as a light structure for noticing intention, visibility, adjustment, and rest—not as a schedule that controls your choices.

A moon phase does not make a decision for you or guarantee an outcome. Use practical information, relationships, health needs, and your own judgement as the basis for action.

Moon phases in astrology

New Moon: set a direction

A New Moon can be a quiet point for naming an intention or beginning a small practice. It does not require a dramatic reset.

Waxing phase: build and test

As light increases, use the period to notice momentum, learn from feedback, and adjust a plan without treating progress as linear.

Full Moon: notice what is visible

A Full Moon can support reflection on what has become clear, active, or emotionally present. Awareness is not an order to act immediately.

Waning phase: integrate and release

As light decreases, consider what can be simplified, completed, or carried forward with more care.

Use timing in a wider context

Compare current transits with a full birth chart, and distinguish ordinary lunar cycles from eclipses.
